How to Choose a Harry Potter Dog Name
Just like the wand chooses the wizard, I do feel the name often chooses the dogs and you just know. But if you’re having a tough time settling on a name here are a few tips.
- Keep It short-(ish): Short names are easy to say and and allow your dog to quickly understand. One or two syllable names are your best bet. Don’t worry, most of the names on this list are on the short end. However, if you do fall in love with a name that is longer, consider a nickname. Nicknames are often simply shortened versions of the full name.
- Avoid common words: It’s very important for your dog to recognize his or her name. Therefore, it’s best to avoid names that sound too similar to common commands or other names in the house. Thankfully most of these names are anything but common!
- Try it out: You’ll want to take some time to discover a name you like that is also a fit for your dog. Start by saying each name aloud to see if it’s easy for you to say. If the name passes the test then start trying it out with your dog.
- Pick a name you like: Take a few extra days to be sure you’re happy with the name you choose. A Harry Potter Dog Name can be really tempting if you’re a fan but it is important that you ensure it’s a name you love. You’ll be saying it a whole lot 🙂
